Self-determination disabilities
The Hudson Valley School-Age FACE Center is offering a family forum on self-determination for teens and young adults transitioning out of high school. The virtual event is geared toward helping people with intellectual developmental disabilities to make choices and plan their lives. (As seen on the Westchester Institute for Human Development calendar.)

It will explore:

  • The many aspects of self-determination, and their importance to the transition planning process
  • How individuals with disabilities can have a voice in planning their life after high school, and ensure that families, schools, and agencies are effectively supporting them
  • The skills needed for self-determination
