Hi. I’m Roberta Bernstein, an editor, writer and advocate. As an editor and writer, I’ve worked with publications and organizations including The New York Times, USA Today, The Economic Hardship Reporting Project and Yahoo News. (Learn more about my journalism career here.)
I’m also a certified Housing Navigator through the New York Alliance and a longtime advocate for a family member with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Initially, this website will share news stories aggregated from other sources (please note that to read the actual articles you might hit some paywalls, and whether you choose to subscribe to these sources is of course up to you) as well as serve as a bulletin board of sorts for disability-related seminars and events in and around New York’s Lower Hudson Valley.
My goal is to grow the site to address the specific issues families face and to offer resources and tips.
