Advocacy training

The Community Support Network at Westchester Institute for Human Development (WIHD) has an excellent program, Hear Our Voices, aimed at empowering, educating and developing social connections for self-advocates. Its educational programming explores relevant topics for advocacy, and in doing so teaches those with I/DD how to become leaders and make the changes they need.

The president of this wonderful group is Brendan Klein, and vice president is Nichole Hastings, both at WIHD.

If you know of someone with disabilities anywhere in New York State who is interested in self-advocacy, check this out!

The group meets monthly and has just posted its Zoom schedule for the 2023-24. It’s every third Wednesday from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.:
